Suspect in Frederick murder case arrested in Fairfax County

Mocobizscene- Police in Fairfax County, Virginia, have apprehended the suspect in a murder case that occurred in Frederick in 2022. The authorities located the suspect in Fairfax County, merely a day after the Frederick Police Department reached out to the public for assistance in locating him.

Hakeem Earnest Sampson, 27, was sought after for a first-degree murder charge in connection with the shooting death of Michael Isaih Olaniyi, who was 26 years old at the time of the incident.

According to officers, Johnson was in possession of the gun just moments before the homicide took place. However, it is believed that Sampson was the one who fired the fatal shots.

Sampson was apprehended for the charge of murder in the Franconia District of Fairfax County. The arrest occurred at around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the vicinity of Backlick Road and John Marr Drive.

In December 2022, Johnson faced arrest for several charges including accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, accessory after the fact to second-degree murder, possession of a handgun on his person, and possession of a handgun as a convicted felon.
