Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at Paterson Residence on Friday

Mocobizscene- Law enforcement officials wasted no time in apprehending a suspect following a shooting incident that tragically claimed the life of a Union City man in a Paterson home on Friday.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi from the Paterson Police Department have announced that Alexander Gutierrez, a 46-year-old resident of Paterson, has been charged with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, and Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose.

According to a report, the Paterson Police Department Patrol units received a tip from a witness at around 10:42 p.m. on Friday, informing them about a shooting incident in a residence near East 21st Street and 19th Avenue. Responding officers arrived at the scene and found the victim, Logan Gonzalez, who had been shot in the lower back. Gonzalez was immediately taken to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
