Snow Flurries Expected in Northern New Jersey: What You Need to Know

As of 2 p.m., flurries were already falling in northwest New Jersey, the Lehigh Valley, and the Poconos, according to the National Weather Service. Wintry weather was observed in these areas.

Light snow is expected in parts of Bergen and Passaic counties on Wednesday afternoon, as well as on Thursday afternoon, December 7th, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The forecast for the rest of the state includes a mix of rain and snow during the winter season.

According to the NWS Mount Holly/Philadelphia Office, the snowfall accumulations are predicted to remain below an inch, posing minimal disruption to travel. However, some areas in our highest elevations may experience slightly higher snow totals of around an inch by the end of the day.

This afternoon, the weather will be mostly cloudy, and the temperature is expected to reach a high of around 42 degrees. As the day progresses, the temperature is likely to drop, reaching a low of 28 degrees at dusk.

Thursday, Dec. 7 is expected to have a mixture of sunshine and clouds, with temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees. There is also a possibility of snow or a wintry mix in the morning. As we head towards the end of the week, the weather is anticipated to warm up, setting the stage for a powerful weekend storm that may bring heavy rainfall to our area.
