A male and a child were discovered deceased in a vehicle in Prince George’s County; a murder-suicide investigation is underway. On Sunday around 1:00 p.m., the police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Mercantile Lane in response to a welfare check.
Both the man and the child were pronounced deceased at the scene after being discovered with gunshot wounds. The police stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community and believe this to be a murder-suicide involving a domestic matter.
Additional information regarding the shooting and the man’s relationship with the minor has not yet been disclosed. Those in possession of information has been requested to contact the police.
