Police Report a Fatal Shooting in Southeast DC

Mocobizscene- Police are conducting an investigation into the shooting and death of a man on Saturday in Southeast D.C.

Officers of the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of 44th Street in response to gunfire at 8:07 p.m. Officers discovered a male who had been shot at the location. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where his injuries ultimately claimed his life.
The identified individual who was shot and killed is Kenneth Barksdale, Jr., 28, a resident of Southeast, D.C.

At this time, the MPD is willing to pay a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to the apprehension and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for any District of Columbia homicide.
