Police claim woman pepper-sprayed two robbers in DC

Washington, D.C.- Two youngsters were taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) early on Friday morning after they attempted to rob a woman in Northeast.

The 9- and 13-year-olds from Northeast D.C., according to MPD, are being charged in connection with the incident, which happened at roughly 12:40 a.m.

The guys approached the woman in the 500 block of 10th St. NE, assaulted her, and attempted to grab her handbag, according to investigators. The lads were armed at the time. One of the boys was pepper-sprayed by the woman, and the other pulled out a knife and repeatedly lunged at her, according to MPD.

After the woman dialed 911, police arrived and took the lads into custody.
