According to prosecutors, a 30-year-old New York man has been sentenced to two years in prison by a federal judge in New Jersey for groping a woman during a flight from Denver to New Jersey.
Ryan Manuella, as per the criminal complaint, was a passenger on United Airlines flight 1729 traveling from Denver, Colorado, to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey on April 16, 2021. During the course of the flight, Manuella repeatedly changed his seat and eventually sat in the seat of a man who had gone to the restroom. Allegedly, he went through the man’s bag and took a pair of sunglasses. When the man returned and asked him to vacate his seat, Manuella moved to the middle seat, which was unoccupied.
While on a flight, a woman was occupying the window seat when she was allegedly touched on the groin and inner thigh by Manuella. The woman responded quickly by telling Manuella to move away from her in a loud voice, standing up from her seat, and alerting a flight attendant for assistance.
