Northwest DC early morning gunshot kills man

Washington- Police in Washington, D.C. are conducting an investigation into a gunshot that claimed the life of a man in Petworth on Monday morning.

At 2:41 a.m., reports of a gunshot were received by officers in the 900 block of Shepherd Street, Northwest, which is located two blocks from the Georgia Avenue–Petworth station. When the authorities arrived, they discovered a man who had been shot multiple times. His demise was officially confirmed at the location.

Since then, the individual has been identified as Jeremy Dewayne Johnson, 32, of Southeast, District of Columbia.

The watch commander for District Four asserts that investigators are collecting information, including surveillance data that will provide further insight into the incident.A individual has been identified as the subject of a lookout issued for him, with the last known whereabouts being westbound on Taylor Street Northwest. A suspect is still evading capture.
