Mocobizscene- A woman who was wounded in New Orleans East is hospitalized while nine months pregnant. Investigators from the New Orleans Police Department estimate that the incident occurred on Chef Menteur Highway near Alcee Fortier Boulevard at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Friday.
When gunfire was heard, the woman and a male were seated in a car, according to investigators. After sustaining abdominal and arm injuries, the woman self-transported to New Orleans East Hospital in search of medical attention. She was subsequently transported to the University Medical Center by an EMS personnel.
The police have not disclosed the woman’s or her infant’s condition. Additionally, the police have not stated whether the male seated in the vehicle with the woman was shot.
