Mocobizscene- The killings of a 35-year-old mother and her three small children, who were all found shot to death in a burning home last week, are under investigation by state police.

Emergency and fire officials came to the 1600 block of East Telegraph Road on Tuesday, December 12, at around 4 p.m., according to a news release from the Indiana State Police, because a house had caught fire. Four victims’ bodies were discovered by firefighters when they broke into the house; the victims were pronounced dead on the spot.

After the fire was put out, detectives arrived at the scene to look into the deaths of the victims. Although the dead people’s injuries were “consistent with gunshot wounds,” authorities have not yet identified a suspect.

State police announced on Wednesday, December 13, that they had identified the four victims as 12-year-old Adelia Briner, 8-year-old Leland Briner, and 6-year-old Iyla Briner, all of whom were the children of Naomi Briner.

The inquiry is still on.
