On Friday night, a crash occurred in south Kansas City, Missouri, resulting in injuries to ten individuals, including five children.
Around 10:15 p.m. on Friday, the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department swiftly responded to a head-on collision that occurred in the 8100 block of Prospect Avenue.
The driver of a silver Chevy Malibu was heading south on Prospect Avenue when they failed to navigate the curve of the road. As reported by the KCPD, the vehicle veered off course, crossing a grassy median triangle and ending up on northwest 81st Street.
The Chevy collided head-on with the Dodge.
The scene was attended by 10 ambulances from the Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department, who promptly transported 10 patients to local hospitals.
The occupants of the Chevy sustained life-threatening injuries, with one additional occupant also being injured.
All seven people in the Dodge, including five children, were taken to a nearby hospital. Their injuries ranged from critical to non-life threatening.
KCFD reported that four individuals sustained critical injuries, while three others suffered serious injuries. Additionally, three individuals were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
The Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) successfully rescued a trapped individual from a vehicle involved in the accident.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is currently investigating the collision and looking into the potential impairment of the driver of the Chevy.
