MPD Accuses Capitol Heights Man of Fatally Shooting Victim in Northeast DC Over Thanksgiving Weekend

Mocobizscene- Adams received immediate medical attention from DC Fire and EMS personnel at the scene before being quickly transported to the hospital. Despite the efforts to save him, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

On Thursday, officials announced that they have arrested Capitol Heights resident Andre Hicks, aged 40, as the suspect in the fatal shooting near the location where Adams’ body was discovered. The investigation led the police to identify Hicks as the culprit, and they took him into custody in connection to the incident that occurred in the 1700 block of Benning Road NE.

Hicks faced charges of first-degree premeditated murder while armed. The department did not release any information about his initial court appearance.
