Mocobizscene- The police have arrested two individuals for operating a well-organized theft ring and pilfering a significant amount of merchandise from a prominent retail beauty store, which includes a branch in Wareham.
Amalia Cinca, a 35-year-old woman from Maryland, and a 17-year-old juvenile female were apprehended on Tuesday by authorities at JFK International Airport in New York while they were trying to board a flight bound for Romania.
Wareham Police and loss prevention investigators with Ulta Beauty have been conducting an active and ongoing investigation, which has resulted in these recent arrests.
On January 7th, the Wareham Police were called to the Ulta store at Wareham Crossing regarding a report of shoplifting. According to an employee, three females entered the store and filled multiple bags with merchandise before leaving without making any payment.
According to the police, the women have stolen $5,818 worth of products.
On January 8th, the Waterford, Connecticut, Police contacted the Wareham Police to report a theft at another Ulta store. They believe that the incident involved three female suspects.
The suspects were travelling in a maroon minivan impounded by the police. Upon searching the van, authorities discovered black garbage bags filled with various items, many of which still had their price tags attached. Among the items were cosmetics and perfumes. Ulta inventory scanners identified the merchandise as belonging to the Wareham store.
The Wareham Police have charged Cinca and the juvenile female with larceny over $1,200 and organized retail crime.
