Mocobizscene- According to authorities, a man was stabbed multiple times on a Metro train in the University Park neighbourhood of South Los Angeles, close to Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, on Tuesday before passing away.
Around 4 p.m., reports of a stabbing led police to the 2400 block of South Flower Street, close to Adams Boulevard, at the LATTC/Ortho Metro train station.
The man was repeatedly stabbed while on the train; he was between 25 and 30 years old. Once home, according to the police, he reportedly contacted 911. He was taken to a nearby hospital by paramedics, where he passed away shortly after.
Tuesday night, police could only confirm that the suspect is a guy and that he is still at large, providing little further information about him. What kind of weapon was used in the stabbing is likewise unknown. Police are asking anyone with knowledge to get in touch.
Both local officials and passengers on the Metro system have expressed concerns about crime and safety. According to data, the number of recorded aggravated assaults by Metro increased by 72% between January and May of this year and the corresponding period in 2019, before to the epidemic.
