Man From Keokuk Receives Prison Sentence For Firearms-Related Offenses

A federal court sentenced a man from Keokuk to 57 months in prison for being in possession of a firearm as a felon. The verdict was announced on Tuesday in Davenport, Iowa.

According to court documents, Octavius Sergio Dion Whitaker, who is 28 years old, stole two firearms from the Farm King in West Burlington on October 27, 2022. Law enforcement officials were able to recover both firearms, which were found in the possession of other individuals.

The United States Attorney’s Office Southern District of Iowa has announced that Whitaker is mandated to undergo three years of supervised release upon completion of his prison sentence. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the West Burlington Police Department were responsible for investigating this case.
