Man charged after stealing ambulance from Virginia Beach hospital

Mocobizscene-  A man from Virginia Beach has been apprehended for allegedly stealing an ambulance from Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on Tuesday evening.

Christopher Allman reportedly embarked on a daring journey that began at the hospital and concluded at the Oceanfront on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. Swiftly, armed officers managed to apprehend the suspect at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Laskin Road. Remarkably, Allman emerged from the ordeal unharmed.

Jody Saunders, chief communications officer with Virginia Beach Police, confirmed that there was a brief pursuit and spike strips were deployed to stop the ambulance. Tommy Turner, Jr., a viewer of WAVY 10, captured the video of the dramatic conclusion to the police chase.

Allman faces multiple charges, including eluding police, destruction of property, grand theft auto, larceny, false identification to an officer, impersonating public safety, tampering and destroying an EMS vehicle, setting an emergency alarm, and having improper brakes.

Allman is currently being held in jail without the possibility of bond. A bond date has been scheduled for Friday, with a preliminary hearing set for May 2.
