Mocobizscene-The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office reported that early on New Year’s Eve, a 67-year-old man from Newark was shot and died.
According to a news release from the prosecutor’s office, Jose F. Gaona was found dead on the 100 block of Malvern Street after sustaining numerous gunshot wounds.
According to the statement, he was declared deceased at 7:25 a.m. on Sunday after police arrived at 7:01 a.m.
