Last week, a fatal collision occurred on the 10 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles involving a wrong-way driver, resulting in the death of one of the drivers. The deceased driver has now been identified.
According to a GoFundMe campaign set up by his loved ones, Esteban Jaramillo, aged 34, lost his life in a crash that occurred on October 19. The driver of the other vehicle was suspected of driving under the influence.
According to the GoFundMe page, Esteban was a remarkable father and friend, just like anyone else. The page also stated that he had a selfless attitude and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others before taking care of himself. Additionally, he was deeply committed to serving his church every weekend. Unfortunately, the GoFundMe element cannot be supported by this particular browser.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., authorities received several calls reporting a driver going the wrong way in the eastbound lanes. Within minutes, a Kia collided with a Honda just south of the Santa Fe Avenue exit. Upon arrival at the scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed the unfortunate passing of Jaramillo.
The hospital received all three individuals who were in the Kia at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, one of them, who happened to be the child of the suspected driver under the influence, was in a critical state and required immediate medical attention.
Jaramillo’s family is left devastated by his sudden departure. He is survived by his wife and two young children, both of whom are under the age of 10. If you wish to support the family during this difficult time, you can find more information about the GoFundMe campaign that has been set up for them here.
