Mocobizscene- The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority is providing free rides in celebration of Rosa Parks Day on Sunday, Feb. 4.
Leaders at the RTA have announced that in honor of Rosa Parks Day, also known as Transit Equity Day, riders will be able to enjoy free rides on all RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries. This initiative aims to promote equal access to transportation services and commemorate the inspiring activism of Rosa Parks. So mark your calendars and take advantage of this special opportunity to explore the city without worrying about fares.
The RTA Board of Commissioners adopted the agency Fare Policy on Sept. 27, 2022, resulting in the free ride. This policy establishes fare-related guidance at RTA, encompassing goals, values, and commitments. The policy honors Rosa Parks Day on her birthday, which falls on February 4th, and also commemorates Claudette Colvin Day on her birthday, which is celebrated on September 5th.
