Federal Drug And Gun Offenses Lead To 32-Year Sentence For Millbrook Man

Mocobizscene A 45-year-old man from Millbrook was sentenced to 32 years in prison by a federal judge on Thursday. He will be placed under eight years of supervised release after his prison term.

According to Doug Howard, the law enforcement coordinator and public information officer for the U.S. attorney’s office for the middle district of Alabama, Kawasi Wilson was found guilty of federal gun and drug charges. On August 10, 2022, law enforcement officers searched Wilson’s residence and discovered 1,000 grams of cocaine, two firearms, and over $20,000 in cash.

Wilson had been barred from owning a firearm due to a prior federal drug trafficking offense. The jury in the trial concluded that Wilson had had cocaine with the intention to distribute it.

“In an email, Howard stated that this case was a component of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program that aims to unite law enforcement agencies and communities to diminish violent crime and enhance the safety of neighbourhoods for all individuals.”

A man who was involved in a riverfront brawl in Montgomery has pleaded guilty after being caught wielding a chair.
