Mocobizscene- Authorities in Newark are currently conducting an investigation following a shooting incident on Friday night, which resulted in two individuals being shot, one of whom tragically lost their life.
At 11 p.m., officers from the Newark police department swiftly responded to a shooting incident on Dewey Street’s 100 block. They discovered Jaquill D. Swain, aged 28, who had sustained a gunshot wound. A statement released on Saturday by Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage confirmed these details.
Another person who was shot was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Thankfully, their injuries are not life-threatening, according to officials.
