A woman from New York state has been arrested for driving while intoxicated after crashing her vehicle on the Thruway, according to the police. The New York State DMV website states that the consequences for a violation related to alcohol or drugs include the suspension of driving privileges, monetary fines, and even potential imprisonment.
During this year’s special Thanksgiving holiday traffic enforcement period, a total of 12,171 tickets were issued statewide by the State Police. Troopers reported arresting 178 individuals for DWI and investigating 765 crashes, fortunately with no fatalities recorded.
Law enforcement at both state and local levels will continue to be more active as we approach the rest of the holidays, although the following alleged DWI arrest took place outside the enforcement period.
