Denise Morgan, the Irish mother who was tragically killed in a suspected murder-suicide in New York, will be laid to rest according to recently released funeral details. The 39-year-old from Co Louth was fatally shot by her partner Joed Taveras, 33, at her apartment in Queens.
According to the authorities, Taveras’ body was discovered beside a gun at the scene. It is believed that he fatally shot Denise in the early hours of October 21, before taking his own life. Denise, who hailed from Tullyallen, Drogheda, is survived by her nine-year-old daughter, Mollie, parents, siblings (Lisa, 41, Shannon, 24, and John, 36), as well as her nieces and nephews (Kayleigh, 19, Roisin, four, and Kayden, eight). Having lived in New York on and off for over a decade, Denise will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
Last week, Denise’s family embarked on a journey to New York to retrace her steps. They visited The Cottage Bar and Restaurant, the Irish pub where Denise worked in Forest Hills, and caught up with her former colleagues. Additionally, they organized a memorial at St Teresa’s Church in Sunnyside, Queens, which was attended by many.
