28-Year-Old Murder Suspect Arrested by Paterson Detectives

On Friday, John McFadden faced charges of murder and weapons offenses for the fatal shooting of Eric Boone, aged 19, which occurred at around 6:30 am on October 1st. He was subsequently arrested for these charges. That morning, the intersection of Park Avenue and East 22nd Street was a scene of chaos as no less than seven shots were fired.

In a joint statement, Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi and Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes reported that Boone was discovered on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds by the police.

According to their statement, he was declared deceased at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing in Paterson, McFadden is currently being held in the Passaic County Jail.
