Counselor’s License Revoked After Engaging in Relationship and Fathering Child with Patient

Mocobizscene- A substance use counsellor in King County, had his license suspended this fall by the Washington Department of Health.

In a recent development, the Department of Health (DOH) has reported that Denis Edward Jesse LeClech’s substance use professional trainee license has been suspended for three years by the Substance Use Disorder Professional Program.

LeClech was employed as a drug counsellor at Therapeutic Health Services from August 2020 to February 2022, as stated in the charging documents by the DOH.

According to the DOH, LeClech reportedly conducted virtual counselling group sessions for patients undergoing court-ordered treatment from December 2020 to June 2021. During this period, he formed a romantic relationship with a female patient.

According to the investigation conducted by the DOH, it was found that on March 8, 2021, LeClech allegedly shared his email address, home address, and phone number with the patient involved.

On August 31, 2021, the patient allegedly paid him $8. The Department of Health (DOH) reports that if LeClech requests reinstatement, they will impose certain conditions on the license.
