Mocobizscene– An 11-year-old boy tragically lost his life on Monday night when he was discovered unconscious with a shoelace tied around his neck at an Upper West Side migrant shelter, according to police and law enforcement sources. Authorities discovered the unresponsive child at approximately 5 p.m. in the lobby of the Stratford Arms Hotel, a residence for migrant families.
According to police and sources, they discovered a shoelace wrapped around his neck.
The young boy, who resided at the hotel, was quickly transported to Roosevelt Hospital. Tragically, he was declared deceased upon arrival.
The medical examiner is currently conducting an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of death. In September, the hotel on West 70th Street decided to prioritize migrant families and consequently asked single asylum seekers to vacate their rooms.
