Police in northwest D.C. are currently on the lookout for suspects involved in an early morning robbery at a 7-Eleven. The daring thieves, armed with a chainsaw, attempted to steal the store’s ATM.
The police received a report of a robbery at around 3:50 a.m. in the 4000 block of Georgia Avenue. According to the authorities, three individuals entered the store and specifically went after the money machine. It is worth noting that one of the suspects was armed with an electric chainsaw.
The suspects escaped in a newer model gray Infiniti, which was last spotted heading north on Georgia Avenue.
In less than 15 minutes, the police swiftly responded to a robbery incident at another 7-Eleven store located in northwest D.C. According to the officers, three individuals wearing masks entered the store situated in the 3000 block of 14th Street and proceeded to steal from it. After committing the crime, the suspects made their getaway in a dark-colored BMW.
The connection between the two incidents remains unclear. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in either of the robberies.
