Arrest made in series of burglaries in Long Beach

Mocobizscene- Authorities announced on Thursday that they have arrested a 35-year-old man from San Pedro in connection with a series of burglaries in Long Beach.

On Tuesday, a little before 5 a.m., patrol officers from the Long Beach Police Department came across an open door on a business near East 2nd Street. According to a news release from the LBPD, the police observed damage to the door and proceeded to investigate further down the block. They found six businesses that had signs of forced entry.

The suspect is believed to have committed six burglaries in the 4700-5300 block of East 2nd Street. In each incident, the suspect managed to enter the businesses and stole an undisclosed amount of property. Investigators were able to identify the man by reviewing the security camera footage from the victims.

Belmont Shores saw an increase in patrols, accompanied by officers offering valuable safety advice to local businesses. Kevin Scott Plunket was apprehended on Wednesday in San Pedro’s 2500 block of South Leland Street.

He faces six charges of burglary and is currently awaiting a decision on his bail amount.
