Mocobizscene- A mother from California was taken into custody on Friday in relation to the tragic passing of her 4-year-old daughter.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a child being assaulted on Thursday at approximately 11:09 p.m., as stated by the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
According to a report by KABC, the child involved in the incident was Mia Gonzalez, who was just four years old.
Maria Avalos, the mother of the victim who is 38 years old, was apprehended at the location of the incident. Subsequently, she was taken into custody on suspicion of committing the crime of murder.
The Department of Medical Examiner has determined that the child’s cause of death was a homicide. The investigation into the death is ongoing, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will review the case on Tuesday.
