NEW YORK -While arguing with two individuals in Midtown Manhattan, an 18-year-old male was fatally stabbed.
Just before 11 p.m. on Friday, police discovered Denzel Bimpey with stab wounds to the torso, shoulder, and arm near 26th Street and Park Avenue South.
Bronx resident Bimpey was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he tragically passed away.
“I had just returned from dinner and was beginning my way to the hotel when I noticed a man amid the street yelling at two others while attempting to incite a fight. Because he was yelling obscenities, they ultimately fled. “The incident occurred precisely where I observed him walking down that path,” a witness told.
When officers arrived at the scene, the walls and sidewalk were reportedly covered in blood.
Although video footage shows detectives using headlamps to search the sidewalks and streets and appear to have apprehended two suspects, the NYPD stated that only one person of interest was in custody and being questioned.
There were no immediate charges filed.
