A mail carrier who was shot dead is remembered by a New Orleans community

In October, Calvin “CJ” Brown, a mail carrier, was tragically shot and killed at a gas station in Gentilly, leaving the residents of the Fairgrounds area in New Orleans mourning his loss.

Gathered at Olive Stallings Playground, community members who had known Brown from his daily route came together to pay tribute to his memory, holding signs as a sign of respect.

According to the Orleans Parish Coroner, the victim of the shooting that took place on October 18th in the 3400 block of Franklin Avenue has been identified as Brown, aged 41.

On Sunday, a memorial will be held at the playground to honor Brown’s memory. The New Orleans Police have released images of a suspect and are seeking the public’s help in the investigation.
