Mocobizscene- Police sources report that a woman was discovered dead in a Manhattan hotel room, with a bloody iron discovered close to her head.
According to authorities, the 38-year-old victim was discovered at the SoHo 54 hotel on Watts Street between Sixth Avenue and Varick Street at approximately 10:30 a.m. She was discovered inside the 11th-floor room, sleeping on the floor under a blanket.
At the scene, the woman was declared deceased. Police said the medical examiner was trying to ascertain the cause of death.
Although they heard hotel employees banging on the door in the morning, other visitors who were billeted adjacent to the room where the woman’s death was discovered claimed they were unaware that anything untoward had happened. On Thursday night, though, they were not present in the room.
According to preliminary information, the death might have been the result of a homicide. According to police sources, a blood-stained iron was discovered next to the woman’s head.
There is a current investigation. The victim’s identity is still unknown.
