18-year-old deceased, toddler critically injured in Avalon 2-vehicle crash

Monday evening in Avalon, two vehicles collided, leaving one 18-year-old dead and another minor in critical condition. The collision occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ohio River Boulevard and Cleveland Avenue, according to the Allegheny County police.

According to investigators, the adolescent was traveling south on Ohio River Boulevard when he collided with a vehicle driven by a woman. The mother was in the car with two children.

The hospital pronounced the teen, subsequently identified as Hayden Ryan of Coraopolis, dead. The mother and her two children were transported to the hospital. One of the children is in critical condition, while the woman and the other child are both stable, according to the police.

Investigating are homicide detectives and collision reconstruction investigators.
