Reward offered after autopsy shows man discovered in burned vehicle along Alabama interstate died of gunshot wound

The Montgomery Police Department needs help identifying the suspect in an August 17, 2023, murder.

At 12:05 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023, police and first responders responded to a vehicle fire on I-85 South and Taylor Road. Joseph Turner, 38, was located in the vehicle, said investigators. Turner was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators say Turner was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy. The autopsy found Turner died from a gunshot before the vehicle fire.

Montgomery Police encourage anyone who saw or knew something to come forward.
