According to a statement from the Montgomery Police Department, a double shooting took place on Monday morning. Regrettably, one person has lost their life, and another is currently battling for survival in a Montgomery hospital.
Around 10:15 a.m., emergency responders, including police and fire medics, arrived at the 1400 block of Eastern Boulevard following reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals who had been shot.
According to reports, a tragic incident occurred where a woman lost her life while a man was rushed to an area hospital with severe injuries. At present, the identities of both victims remain undisclosed.
An individual of interest has been apprehended, and authorities are currently investigating to ascertain whether or not they are connected to the ongoing homicide investigation.
The reason behind the crime remains unknown at this time. Sadly, this marks the 56th homicide in Montgomery for the year 2023.
