On I-85, a man was discovered dead from a gunshot wound in a burning car

Montgomery police are investigating after a 38-year-old man was discovered dead in a burning vehicle on I-85 early Thursday.

At about 12:05 a.m., Montgomery cops and fire medics responded to the incident on I-85 Southbound near Taylor Road. According to MPD Major Saba Coleman, they discovered Joseph Turner, of Montgomery, in the vehicle. At the site, first responders pronounced him dead.

The body was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an examination, where a fatal gunshot wound was detected. Coleman stated that the death is being investigated as a homicide. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 334-215-STOP, Secret Witness at 334-625-4000, or the police at 334-625-2831.
