Montgomery, ALA – Socialites get into this: Little Miss “I want to participate in a brawl” has been arrested for the massive Montgomery riverfront fight.
Mary Todd, 21, brought herself up on Thursday, according to local news site WSFA, and was charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault. According to MPD, Miss Todd is now being held at the Montgomery Municipal Jail.
This is the fourth defendant detained and charged by the Montgomery Police Department in connection with the chaotic case that has garnered national attention. Allen Todd, 23, and Zachary Shipman, 25, were arrested on Wednesday, as previously reported. Richard Roberts, 48, was apprehended by police on Tuesday. Each person is currently charged with the same offense. Roberts, on the other hand, was hit with two counts.
According to Montgomery Police Chief Darryl Albert, the altercation started when private boat owners refused to move their boats away from where the city-owned Harriot II Riverboat docks. Attempts were made for 45 minutes by the boat’s skipper, who is Black, using a PA system. The private boat owners, on the other hand, hurled obscenities at the Harriot and refused to move their boat, according to the chief.
A witness claimed that racist slurs were yelled at before the brawl began. The witness reportedly told law authorities that the insult was made while the co-captain was attempting to maneuver the pontoon boat away from the Harriott II’s docking place.
According to Albert, there were 200 persons on the riverboat. More charges could be filed in the incident, according to police.
