Mississippi Man Dies in Lake Pickwick Boat Crash, Lauderdale County

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a 63-year-old Mississippi man was killed early Saturday morning in a crash on Pickwick Lake near Waterloo in Lauderdale County.

His aluminum fishing boat collided with a support column on the Second Creek Bridge. According to ALEA Sgt. Jeremy J. Burkett, he was ejected from the vessel and died at the scene.

Ricky D. Rodgers of Iuka has been identified as the victim.

The ALEA Marine Patrol Division is investigating the crash.
