Two individuals have been charged with various crimes after being caught outside the Limestone Correctional Facility with a T-shirt cannon.
Alvin Andrews, aged 20, and Ladarius McDade, aged 23, were apprehended outside the prison on Wednesday night.
The Alabama Department of Corrections reported that law enforcement was alerted to a suspicious vehicle near Nick Davis Road at approximately 11:22 pm on Wednesday.
The vehicle attempted to flee but was later stopped in a nearby neighbourhood. After conducting a search of the chase path, ADOC found a blue duffle bag and T-shirt cannon.
The bag contained two cylindrical packages wrapped in black tape, a night-vision monocular, and an additional CO2 cartridge.
Andrews has been charged with various crimes, including trespassing at prisons, attempting to elude law enforcement, promoting prison contraband, and drug trafficking. He is currently being held at the Limestone County Jail on a bond of $78,500.
McDade, who was released from the Bullock Correctional Facility on February 11th, has also been charged with trespassing at prisons, attempting to elude law enforcement, promoting prison contraband, and drug trafficking. He is being held at the Limestone County Jail on a bond of $158,000.
