A former Franklin County Schools employee has been accused with soliciting a minor

A former employee of a school in Franklin County has been charged by the authorities for soliciting a minor.

The police investigation into the matter led to the charges against Kristi Jolyn Whelan, who was arrested over the weekend.

She has been charged with two counts of solicitation of sexual battery by an authority figure, four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, four counts of purchasing alcohol for a child, and one count of dissemination of smoking paraphernalia to a minor.

The school where she worked during her tenure at Franklin County Schools has not been disclosed by the authorities.

Whelan was released after posting a bond of $50,000 and her next court appearance is scheduled for September 18th.
