Three people are injured when a fight breaks out along the Caribbean Carnival parade route in Brooklyn.

On Monday, at the start of the annual New York Caribbean Carnival in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights area, a shooting took place that left one person injured. Additionally, two individuals were slashed in the same incident.

As the celebrations were winding down near the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Utica Avenue, an incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. Despite the festivities coming to a close, many individuals were still out enjoying the event.

According to reports, a physical altercation erupted between two factions near the start of the parade route at 1187 Eastern Parkway, resulting in injuries to three individuals.

According to John Chell, a member of the NYPD Patrol Bureau, there were several groups who gathered at the location. The cause of the altercation is still unclear. During the incident, gunshots were fired, and two individuals were stabbed while another was shot in the back. Fortunately, law enforcement officials were able to arrive promptly on the scene and were able to retrieve a firearm.

The medical team rushed two of the victims to Brookdale Hospital, while one of them declined medical assistance. Fortunately, all the victims are expected to recover soon.

A bullet that was not intended for it also hit the windshield of an FDNY fire engine parked at the corner of Eastern Parkway.

During the annual New York Caribbean Carnival in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, three individuals were shot along the parade route. The incident caused concern and alarm among the festivities’ attendees and the local community.

Fortunately, none of the firefighters sustained any injuries during the incident.

As of now, there have been no arrests made in connection to the case.

As the weekend approached, the police made a commitment to ensure the safety of everyone participating in the festivities. They took extra measures by using drones to help the officers during emergency calls.

As the parade commenced on Monday morning, Mayor Eric Adams wasted no time in declaring triumph.

According to him, this carnival weekend will be remembered as one of the most secure ones in the city’s history.

Four guns were confiscated by the police during the parade, with one of them being the same one that was used in the shooting that took place at Eastern and Utica.

According to official reports, the corner was occupied by approximately 5,000 individuals.

The law enforcement officials utilized an alternative drone tethered to an SUV to determine the optimal locations for deploying their resources. With this tool, they were able to swiftly clear the intersection in a matter of minutes.

Chell stated that there was a significant gathering at the corner, and it was highly likely that there would be a response. To assess the situation, they utilized their advanced drone technology to determine the number of people present. As a result, they were able to take appropriate action, and the deployment of police officers to the area ensured that the safety of the public was maintained. “We’ve effectively mitigated the risk by removing the drone and positioning police officers on the corner. This is precisely what we need to do to ensure the safety of our citizens,” Chell remarked.
