In Atlantic City, two individuals have been charged with multiple offenses following a drug bust on Wednesday.
According to the Atlantic City Police Department, while two of their detectives were carrying out surveillance in the vicinity of the first block of South Mansion Avenue, they noticed Malik Jones, a 40-year-old resident of Atlantic City, and Camron Izzard, a 25-year-old from Philadelphia, engaging in what seemed to be the distribution of narcotics.
Upon discovering that Jones had an active warrant for his arrest in Pennsylvania, the detectives quickly made their way to a parked car where they believed he might be located.
The law enforcement officials reported that they spotted a digital scale resting on the center console of the car, leading to the apprehension of both individuals.
As per the authorities, Izzard was discovered with ecstasy while Jones had 18 grams of cocaine and 60 bags of heroin in their possession.
Detectives made a significant discovery during their search, as they found a loaded handgun, along with illicit drugs including six grams of cocaine, 104 grams of marijuana, and various ecstasy pills. Additionally, they also recovered materials that are commonly used in the production and manufacturing of cocaine.
Jones is facing a range of serious charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, multiple counts of possession of CDS, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Additionally, Jones has been charged with loitering to distribute CDS, maintaining a CDS production facility, and being a certain person not allowed to possess a weapon. To add to the gravity of the situation, Jones is also considered a fugitive from justice. These charges carry significant consequences and will require a skilled legal defense.
Izzard faced several charges, including possession of a weapon without lawful permission, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, and multiple counts of CDS possession and CDS possession with the intention to distribute. Additionally, certain person not allowed to possess a weapon, possession of CDS paraphernalia, loitering to distribute CDS, and maintaining a CDS production facility were among the charges filed against him.
After being arrested, both individuals were sent to the Atlantic County Justice Facility where they are currently being held.
