The Queens District Attorney’s Office recently made a decision not to prosecute a mother who was facing charges after her child went missing for several hours. This announcement was made by an official spokesperson on Thursday. The decision brings relief to the mother who had been caught up in a difficult situation.
The police charged a 30-year-old mother for endangering her child’s welfare. The incident began when her daughter requested a visit to the park during a grocery shopping trip. Initially, the mother denied the request, but later on, she allowed an acquaintance, 75-year-old Franz Vila, to accompany the child.
The mother, worried sick about her child’s whereabouts, contacted the authorities at approximately 1 p.m. as she had been unable to reach Vila. As a result, Vila was apprehended and is now facing a host of charges, including kidnapping, criminal sexual acts with a minor, sexually motivated abuse, and other related offenses.
