Ider police arrested a woman after discovering a missing Pennsylvania boy with her

An Ider woman is facing many counts after police discovered her with a missing Pennsylvania boy.

Amanda Beiland, 37, was brought into the DeKalb County Jail early Thursday after the kid was discovered with her during an Ider Police Department traffic stop.

According to officials, the male child was reported missing from Pennsylvania more than a week ago. According to Ider Police Chief Stephen Malone, the Scranton Police Department and DeKalb County Juvenile Court are working to return the youngster to his guardian.

Beiland was accused of interfering with parental rights. She also has an open previous charge in DeKalb County for child chemical endangerment.

Bond information has not been made public.

“Cases like these are very serious, and to know that this juvenile was missing from over 800 miles and five states away is extremely concerning to me,” Malone said in a prepared statement.

Juveniles are incredibly gullible, which is why there are legal mechanisms in place to prevent this from happening. The protection of children is of the utmost importance to us, whether they reside in the neighborhood or 800 kilometers away.”
