Washington – Shortly after midnight, a shooting was reported at the Benning Market located in the northeast area of the 2000 block of Benning Road.
The woman was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Fortunately, there were no other casualties inside the store.
Authorities are currently on the lookout for a male suspect in his forties who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, as he was reportedly carrying a silver handgun at the time of the incident. Investigators are actively pursuing leads and hope to apprehend the suspect soon.

According to reports, he was spotted riding a green bicycle and heading towards the west on Benning Road.
