According to the Fayette County Coroner, a tragic incident occurred early Wednesday morning on the Mon-Fayette Expressway near Uniontown. A motorcyclist and their passenger lost their lives due to a collision with a deer.
According to Coroner Phillip Reilly, a man driving a vehicle and his female passenger passed away due to severe injuries caused by hitting a deer and colliding with the guardrail on the roadway in North Union at approximately 9 a.m. Sadly, they were both declared dead at the scene by a deputy coroner.
According to the coroner’s report, the motorcycle was traveling at a considerable speed during the accident. It was noted that neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing helmets, as mentioned by Reilly.
According to Reilly, the identities of the victims will not be disclosed until their next of kin have been notified.
The authorities at Uniontown were responsible for investigating the accident. As of Wednesday, no further information was disclosed regarding the incident.
