On a Saturday evening, September 23rd, a crash occurred in northern Habersham near Grandis Heights Circle in Hollywood. As a result of the accident, an Elberton driver was arrested for driving under the influence. The incident was reported just before 7:30 p.m.
Emergency officials reported that a Toyota Camry traveling southbound overturned and crossed over the median and northbound lanes before finally coming to a stop on top of a guardrail situated on the highway’s north shoulder.
Emergency services from Habersham County, along with several units from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the crash.
Two individuals were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville via an ambulance following the accident.
Northbound traffic was affected by the accident as the vehicle was being taken off the guardrail.
Augusta Lynn Naggie, a 20-year-old resident of Elberton, was charged by deputies with multiple offenses including driving under the influence, reckless driving, speeding, failure to maintain lane, underage consumption, and possession of an open alcohol container.
After posting a bond of $4,787.50, Naggie was finally released from jail.
