An NYPD detective arrested for assault in a domestic dispute with his wife at at SI home

An NYPD detective, who was off-duty at the time, has been taken into custody for assault after getting into a physical altercation with his wife at their residence in Staten Island. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, and the detective was immediately apprehended by authorities.

At approximately 4:20 a.m., authorities received a call regarding an incident at the home of 41-year-old Detective Douglas MacEwen. According to his wife, MacEwen had pushed her to the ground and struck her ear.

During the conversation with the officials, MacEwen mentioned that his wife, who is 42 years old, had slapped him in the face.

MacEwen was accused of assault by the authorities.

The man’s spouse is also being charged with assault.

Detective MacEwen has been a part of the NYPD since 2005 and has recently been promoted to the position of detective in 2021.

The investigation is still ongoing and no further updates have been provided as of yet.
