A single-car crash splits car in half, claiming 1 life

Early Saturday, a car crash claimed the life of a man in St. Louis, Missouri, according to KMOV.

According to initial police reports, it appears that in the early hours of Saturday morning, a 2013 Ford Fusion was travelling at a high speed on northbound Jefferson Avenue towards Park when the driver lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the car crossed over into the southbound lanes of Jefferson and collided with a tree located on the west side of the street. The impact caused the car to split into two parts, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. Tragically, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The car eventually came to a halt in the alley of the 2600 block of Caroline.

The investigation is being managed by Accident Reconstruction.
