According to reports, an elderly man, aged 74, is recuperating after he was pushed onto the subway tracks in New York City. The police are calling it an unprovoked attack.
According to insiders from the NYPD, as reported by The Messenger, the individual was pushed onto the subway tracks at the 68th Street-Hunter College station around 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday. The incident is currently under investigation.
The authorities are currently on the lookout for the attacker, who has been identified as a man in his thirties with a dark complexion and weighing around 200 pounds. During the incident, the perpetrator was attired in black pants and a tan shirt.
Unfortunately, there is no footage of the incident that was caught on surveillance cameras.
According to sources, the perpetrator was spotted pacing back and forth at the station and having a conversation with himself just before the assault took place.
According to sources, the individual in question was observed shouting at himself in a loud and agitated manner.
After the incident, a kind-hearted MTA employee assisted the victim in getting back onto the subway station platform. The first responders then took him to the hospital for treatment of a small gash on one of his hands, along with bruises sustained during the fall onto the tracks. The victim is currently receiving the necessary medical attention to make a full recovery.
